#9,003 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)

Logan Dodge is some dude. A cross between Spider Man, Superman, and Captain Marvel. “They have me outnumbered and outgunned, so I’m going to need to make every bullet from my Sig hit the mark.” Yup. The dialogue and Logan’s heroics are so bad it’s humerus. Truth is that Rief is a marginal writer. A Wayne Stinnett wannabe that will never make it. Oh well, crank them out and make a few bucks.

This third book in the series is action-packed. I'd sure hate to take on Ange in a dark alley ... actually, even at a distance given her prowess with a sniper rifle. But hang on ... the book focuses on the Logan Dodge's exploits, not his partner in love and retribution. As for me ... well, I'm off to read book 4 in the series. Yes, I am addicted LOL.

And I don't even mean a good B-movie, like Steven Seagal's work in the early 90s. More along the lines of a Sharknado sequel. This might've been the most ridiculous book I've ever read. The action sequences seem to have no basis in reality (hitting a guy three times in the chest with a pistol from 200 feet? Riding backwards on a motorcycle bouncing down the road and hitting the driver of the car that's chasing you in the neck with one shot through the windshield? Taking down seven-plus armed thugs multiple times? The list goes on and on...), the characters are all, without exception, one-dimensional--either beautiful, highly trained, or super-achievers in all aspects of life (sometimes all three)--there are literally no weaknesses to be found. Also, the author spends a whole lot of time with ridiculous details that don't add much to the story, like how many times are the two main characters going to shower together, on a boat no less--seriously, anyone who's ever spent any time on boats knows that there is no room at all for those kind of shenanigans. So we hear all about the main characters favorite beers and seafood marinade, but important details get completely left out--somehow our protagonists fly into a sovereign country, don't have to check in with customs, come fully armed, shoot up the town and have a high-speed chase, yet fly right back out again like nothing happened. There are so many gaping holes in this story that it's difficult to read. The point of the story should've been the recovery of the lost 'treasure' but that was a huge letdown that was just kind of glossed over and given the Indiana Jones treatment. I halfway expected one of the characters to tell us that 'top men' had taken care of the loot.Ugh.I feel like my IQ lost a few points by reading this book. I've read the first one in the series, and it was ok, the second one amped up the unbelievable factor so much that I found myself rolling my eyes as I read, but this one, man, it just sucked like crap on a stick. There was a basis for a good story here, but it seems that the author writes like an eighth-grader who's spent waaaay too much time reading penthouse forums as a kid. It was much too juvenile and all of the effort went into action sequences instead of telling the story. If it *were* a movie, it'd be 90 minutes shaky-cam action sequences and the super slo-mo scenes. There are much better Florida action writers out there--stick with Wayne Stinnett or Cap Daniels.

For those that love adventure, this series is great fun. If you have ever read John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee's books, you will love these. They are well written, sometimes predictable, but a great escape from the stresses of the day. I enjoy them immensely. Clive Cussler would probably agree.

The author must play a lot of video games. Like video games, there is an unending amount of blood and gore without a realistic plot to support it. I couldn't take anymore after Chapter 7.

Couldn’t put it down. Very fast paced story with several surprises. Logan is a real Key West character and his home, friends and descriptions are real. Great read.

Military and civilian personnel in the rest of the world is not only about a dozen people were in Beaufort sea

They just keep getting better and better!!! I read this book so fast. I wish it could of lasted longer.......
