The philosophies he shares are not only valuable when dealing with wealth and real estate, but good for dealing with people in general.
I have loved and been interested in renovations, flipping houses for selling/renting, so I was very excited to learn that he (The Homestead Craftsman) had written a book on the preliminary/background process of what can be seen on his Youtube cash house renovation series on his channel, Homemade Home.The book is very easy to understand and very relatable in that it’s not a step by step how to, but a look into his personal journey and how to learn from his hurdles and successes to make your own success.I would recommend this read to someone like myself who is just at the stage of genuine interest, but also someone who is actually in the process because it is very encouraging and could help them out as well.
Yes, I went into this knowing I was probably going to like the book because I follow his Youtube channels. Regardless, I've read several books on real estate recently and this was better than most. People tend to unnecessarily pontificate to fill space and pages on relatively simple topics. I appreciate that this didn't take that approach. He touches on several different methods to purchase homes and gives examples and experience in all of them. I honestly think my approach to purchasing real estate will change after reading this.

I contacted the owners originally years ago and recently of our intent to buy. Let the owner know we finally had money for offer after all these years. She informed me she had hired a realtor and would be contacted with an asking price. I thought the deal was dead. What you wrote made me realize I've got to go for broke and not let this opportunity get away. Avoid competition whenever possible, right? Long story short, made offer today. Waiting to hear back. But she has changed her tune and indicated she's willing to work this us. You are a rockstar in my opinion. What you're doing is where we are heading too. The advice and encouragement you just gave me was worth WAY more than $5!!! This deal will be worth at least $350,000 over the next 30 years.
This book is a very simple read...which is good for me. I've had an interest in real estate for a long time, I've been in the construction trades since I was 11 years old. I have been close a few times to finally taking action, but have been discouraged by competition and rising home values placing the once attainable, out of reach. There is some key information in this book that has literally changed my entire outlook and approach to the next steps of house flipping and potentially rentals. This is bar none, the best $5 I have spent...maybe ever. Couldn't be happier and certainly would recommend it to anyone that is interested in building a rental fleet of homes or just flipping them. However, I would NOT recommend it if you're in the greater South Eastern Michigan area as I don't want the competition :)Seriously though, great read, worth the time and money. Subsequently, if you're coming across this book by chance and you're not familiar with The Homestead Craftsman, go search Youtube and see for your self...stand up guy with a solid work ethic and seemingly logical thought process.
This is a short book- a quick and fun read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I've been following the author's youtube channel for a time and have enjoyed watching his various house and how-to videos. I've especially loved seeing the progress made on his most recent 'cheap house' project. This book is straight forward with interesting personal anecdotes, excellent practical tips, and motivation to encourage you as you begin or continue your own journey in real estate investing. Nice job Homestead Craftsman!
This is a great short book. The book covers a few stories regarding deals "the homestead craftsman" made in the past to buy cheap houses. Easy read with lots of useful info to those not in the real estate business, like me. I look forward to future books from this author.
While this is something that can be read in an hour, it was well written and informative. I've watched this young man's progress on YouTube and find those just as entertaining. Spend the money and learn something new.
